A judge imposed a prison sentence against Gustavo Adolfo Cervantes Rubio and José Luis Carranza de la Rosa, allegedly responsible for the crime of attempted aggravated extortion.

In the course of the investigation, it was demonstrated that those currently prosecuted, apparently impersonated members of the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia and asked the owner of a farm, located in Arenas Blancas, rural area of Chiriguaná (Cesar) for seven million pesos, in exchange for not attacking him and that his workers.

Cervantes Rubio and Carranza de la Rosa were arrested in flagrante delicto by members of Gaula-National Army, on January 12, when they apparently received an envelope with cash that was derived from extortion.

During the judicial proceeding, a motorcycle and two cell phones were seized.
