At the request of a sectional prosecutor of the Immediate Reaction Unit (Unidad de Reacción Inmediata), a judge sent Mayerly Fernández Salcedo to prison for being the alleged person responsible for a homicide.
The facts occurred on July 30, in the Puerto de Pescadores sector in San José del Guaviare (Guaviare), during a fight in which several indigenous women participated.
According to the investigation, the arrested woman allegedly attacked another woman with a broken glass bottle. Despite the fact that the victim was taken to the local hospital, the severity of her injuries caused her death.
The alleged murderer was arrested by the National Police on October 14 in Santo Domingo neighborhood in the main city by virtue of a court order
The Prosecutor’s Office brought charges against the detainee for aggravated homicide. She did not plead guilty.
