At the request of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office, Gaula Group in Casanare, Gilberto Samanay Herrera, allegedly responsible for extortion in Casanare, was sent to prison.

The facts occurred since last March, when the victim begun to be extorted from alleged members of FARC dissidents who commit crimes in eastern area of Colombia.

The defendant was arrested in flagrante delicto by CTI investigators of the Prosecutor’s Office, members of the Military Gaula of the National Army on public roads in the municipality of Tame (Arauca) when he received the money from the extortion.

Samanay Herrera, to whom the Prosecutor’s Office charged with extortion, was brought before a court. He did not plead guilty.

When he was arrested, the detainee had in his possession the money and a payment receipt in the name of dissidents.
