The Office of the Attorney General obtained a prison sentence against Oswaldo Ibáñez Herrera, alias El Flaco, allegedly responsible for illegal possession of weapons or explosives for the exclusive use of the Military Forces.

The defendant was arrested in flagrante delicto by National Army troops in Puerto Bélgica, a rural area of the Municipality of Cáceres (Antioquia), when he was  in possession of a grenade, which he allegedly used to threaten the merchants in the area and force them to close their shops

According to the investigation carried out by a specialized prosecutor from the Sectional office in Antioquia, alias El Flaco would be the urban ringleader of the GAO Clan del Golfo in the aforementioned area and would be pressuring some residents to go out and block the roads during the mining strike that took place in the region.

The Prosecutor’s Office is also investigating whether Ibáñez Herrera participated in the kidnapping of two young people from the area, who, apparently, were forcibly incorporated into the aforementioned criminal organization.
