A sectional prosecutor in the municipality of Mompox (Bolívar) obtained a prison sentence against Mauricio Enrique Miranda Zambrano, alias El Lobo and Juan Manuel Felizzola Caro, for their alleged responsibility in the murder of Jesús Barrios Rojas.

The judicial decision was based on the facts that occurred on September 4, 2022, in a public establishment where the defendants, allegedly with a blunt object and a sharp weapon injured the 35 year old victim in a fight.

As a result of these attacks, the man died 12 days later in a hospital in Magangué.

By virtue of a court order, those under investigation were arrested by the National Police on February 20 in Mompox.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged them with aggravated homicide. They did not plead guilty at the hearings
