After approving the request made by the specialized prosecutor, a judge sent John Jairo Rodríguez Gómez, alias Águila, to prison. He was allegedly  be part of the Nicolás Urango Reyes substructure of the so-called ‘Clan del Golfo’.

The evidence proves that this man would be one of the main wharehousemen for alleged criminal activities and drugs for distribution in Cartagena (Bolívar) and surrounding areas.

In a raid carried out on February 13 in La Carolina neighborhood, the National Police arrested Rodríguez Gómez. Hallucinogenic substances such as cocaine and marijuana, 11 9 mm caliber cartridges, 25 5.56 caliber cartridges were found in his possession.

The Prosecutor’s Office accused the defendants with trafficking, manufacturing and possession of weapons for private use; and aggravated trafficking, manufacturing and possession of firearms and; trafficking, manufacturing and drugs possession.
