According to the investigation, the victim allegedly put up resistance to the theft of his belongings and therefore he was attacked with a sharp weapon.
After assessing the material evidence presented by a prosecutor from the Sectional Office in Risaralda, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Mateo Valencia Martínez, allegedly involved in the murder of an elderly person.
The facts occurred on October 21, 2022 in Dosquebradas where the defendant apparently intended to rob the victim´s cell phone and valuables. Apparently, due to the resistance, Valencia Martínez attacked him with a sharp weapon, causing several injuries that led to his death.
CTI officers with the support of the National Police arrested Valencia on a public road in Dosquebradas. The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with aggravated homicide and aggravated theft.
