CTI Officers of the Prosecutor’s Office and police officers of Santander arrested the former mayor of the municipality of Bolívar, Roque Julio Vargas Castañeda, who must serve a sentence of five years and three months in prison for the crime of contract without compliance with legal requirements.

The Prosecutor’s Office revealed a series of irregularities presented in a supply order dated January 16, 2006 for the delivery of materials and electrical installations, which did not comply with legal requirements and violated the planning principle.

Vargas Castañeda remained at large.
