The Prosecutor’s Office in Caquetá achieved a conviction for the crime of aggravated housebreaking against two men accused of committing housebreaking at the governor´s of Caquetá house, Arnulfo Gasca, in April 2021.
The one-year prison sentence was achieved through a preliminary agreement between the parties in which the now convicted Hernando Calderón Torres and Eladio Bedoya Samboní accepted their responsibility for the facts, and they repaired the damages to the victim and asked for public apologies.
The facts occurred on April 16 when the individuals entered the governor´s home and stole jewelry and watches, all valued at COP $60,000,000.
Thanks to the information provided by non-formal sources, as well as the videos collected from security cameras, among other investigative activities, it was possible to identify those responsible for these facts, achieving their arrest by virtue of a court order.
The sentences were final and both must serve the sentence in prison.
