At the request of a prosecutor belonging to the Sectional Office in Magdalena Medio nine alleged members of Los del Río criminal organization, involved in the sale of  drugs in Cimitarra (Santander), were sent to prison.

In an operation carried out on November 29 by the Prosecutor’s Office and the National Police, these nine people were arrested, including Yorman Brayan Gómez Agudelo, who would be the ringleader of the structure.

Firearms, ammunition, drugs and cash were seized.

The other arrested people are Gerardo Mejía Murillo, Raikis Blanco, Maydeline Bueno, Alexander Benavides, Juan David Severiche, Yeison Alejandro Manco, Miguel Ángel Londoño and Reined Luis Gómez.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged them with possession of a firearm, drug trafficking and illegal destination of real estate.

They are also investigated for their possible participation in selective homicides in that area of the department.
