At the request of a special prosecutor from the Sectional Office in Atlántico, a judge sent to prison 12 people who would be part of Los Rastrojos Costeños. This would be a criminal organization investigated for their alleged participation in homicides and extortions in the department.

The defendants were arrested by Gaula officers of the National Police during home searches carried out at the Cachimbero, La Bonga de Barranquilla, and Primero de Mayo neighborhoods in the municipality of Soledad on August 25.

The detainees are:

  • Elsy Judith Moreno Gutiérrez, alias La Patrona.
  • Víctor Carlos Perez Moreno, alias Víctor Carlos JR.
  • Yidier de Jesús Moreno Gutiérrez.
  • Orlando Manuel Pérez Coronado.
  • Wilmer Antonio Coronado Sandoval.
  • Martin Esteban Moreno Rivera.
  • Osnaider de Jesús Charris Salcedo.
  • Yovanys Ayala Manjarrez.
  • Kevin Smith Moreno Gutiérrez.
  • Martin Emilio Moreno Gutiérrez.

Manuel de Jesús Gutiérrez Cervantes and Stiven Alberto San Andrés Castillejo were notified in prison.

The investigation revealed that those arrested people were allegedly extorting owners of commercial establishments in Barranquilla and its metropolitan area. If the victims did not give the required amounts they attempted against their lives.
