At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, a judge issued a prison sentence against a man for his alleged responsibility in the death of a young man.
The facts occurred on June 20 in the Cachipay sector in the municipality of Santa Helena del Opón (Santander), when the young man tried to protect his mother from the aggression of her sentimental partner and was seriously injured with a firearm, apparently by the defendant.
During the fight, Ariza Poveda allegedly also injured one of his stepdaughters with the weapon.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with homicide, manufacturing, trafficking, or possessing firearms and personal injuries.
