At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, Temístocles Zapata, 46, was sentenced to 20 years and 10 months in prison for the crime of attempted aggravated femicide.
The facts took place in Machado neighborhood in Copacabana (Antioquia) on April 23, 2021 when the perpetrator attacked his 43-year-old former partner with a knife when she went to buy groceries in a store.
After the attack, the aggressor was arrested while he tried to escape from the scene.
According to the investigation carried out by a prosecutor from the so-called Unidad de Vida, three months before the commission of the crime, the woman decided to end the relationship due to repeated verbal aggressions by her sentimental partner and decided to live at her daughter´s house.
