According to the investigation, the defendant was a fugitive since January 2021 when, apparently, he participated in a fight that ended with the death of the victim.

Due to the evidence presented by a prosecutor of the Sectional Office in Córdoba, a judge decided to issue a prison sentence against Cristian Álvarez Villa for the crime of homicide.

The defendant did not plead guilty to the charges filed by the Prosecutor’s Office.

Álvarez Villa, who did not plead guilty to the charges, according to the facts investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office, allegedly participated in a fight that ended with the murder of the minor José David Berrío Ortega. Apparently, the victim was fighting with another man when he was wounded three times with a knife.

The case took place on January 26, 2021, around 11:30 p.m. near the metal bridge in the Sucre neighborhood in Montería.

The alleged murderer was arrested on June 24 on a public road in Montería by Police officers.
