The First Criminal Court of the Circuit of Arauca (Arauca) sentenced Julio César Acevedo Jaimes to five years and four months in prison for his responsibility in the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, and possessing firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
The facts for which he was convicted, occurred on March 24, 2021 in the Miramar neighborhood of this city, when the National Police carried out control operations and he was surprised with a handmade pistol-type firearm and a 22-caliber cartridge without the documentation required to carry it.
Acevedo Jaimes will remain in a prison in the main city of the department of Arauca
The sentence issued on April 20 was obtained after a preliminary agreement between the Prosecutor’s Office and the defendant.
