After approving the preliminary agreement reached between the Prosecutor’s Office and the defendant’s defense, a Judge of the Circuit in Medellín (Antioquia) sentenced Julián David Patiño Zuluaga to 16 years and 8 months in prison.

The facts under investigation occurred on the afternoon of August 19, 2021 in Medellín, where there was a fight between two men who, apparently, were drinking liquor and taking drugs.

In the middle of the fight, the 34-year-old victim was wounded several times by the defendant with a knife. The severity of the injuries caused his death.

Given the conclusive evidence collected by the Prosecutor’s Office, the defendant accepted his responsibility in the crime of aggravated homicide and was sentenced as an accomplice.
