A prison sentence was issued for Víctor Albeiro Berbesí Salón for his alleged responsibility in the crime of aggravated trafficking, manufacturing, or possession of narcotics.

The defendant was arrested in flagrante delicto on January 19 in the Army checkpoint in a rural area of La Gabarra, jurisdiction of the municipality of Tibú (Norte de Santander), when he was allegedly traveling on a motorcycle and transporting 6 packages of coca base, apparently to be sold in that area.

In the procedure, the officers seized a total of 10 kilos 900 grams of the illicit substance.

Berbesí Salón did not plead guilty to the charges brought by the Office of the Attorney General and will serve a sentence in a prison in Norte de Santander.
