In compliance with the strategy to clarify the acts committed against people in process of reincorporation defined by the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, the Special Investigation Unit (Unidad Especial de Investigación UEI) obtained a prison sentence against Yhon Edison Sarmiento Reyes, alias Yhon Negro, as alleged responsible for the death of José Alfredo García Gutiérrez, a former Farc member in process of reincorporation which took place on July 15, 2019 in rural area Salitre de La Uribe (Meta). 

The arrested person Yhon Edison Sarmiento Reyes was an alleged member of the residual armed group E-40. 

By virtue of a court order, UEI investigators, in an inter-institutional work with  members of two Army battalions arrested Sarmiento Reyes in rural area of Papamene, La Uribe, on January 7th.  

The Office of the Attorney General charged alias Yhon Negro with aggravated murder, conspiracy to commit a crime, and aggravated manufacturing, trafficking, possession of weapons, accessories, parts or ammunition. The defendant did not plead guilty.
