Before a supervisory judge, the Office of the Attorney General charged former mayor of Quibdó (Chocó) 2012 – 2016, Zulia María Mena García with execution of a contract without compliance with legal requirements. 

The investigation is related to alleged irregularities committed in the planning and execution of a contract signed with consortium Malla Vial for COP $ 13,000,000,000 in 2014, for the improvement of the road Puente La Platina in neighborhood El Porvenir in Chocó. 

According to the evidence collected in the process led by a prosecutor of the Sectional Office in Chocó, there was a patrimonial detriment exceeding COP $670,000,000. 

For these facts, Ismael de Jesús Aldana Vivas, auditor of the work, and Luis Cardona Marín, the contractor, were also prosecuted. They were charged with embezzlement. 

It should be noted that the former mayor is also accused for other crimes against the public administration. 

“The Office of the Attorney General continues keeping the promises made in regard to the fight against corruption, we are moving forward, and we continue producing results to Colombian citizens,” stated the Attorney General in Quibdó.
