One of the arrested individuals, alias Chucky, an alleged member of ‘Los Pachenca’ accused of the commission of other murders, pleaded guilty to the charges. In less than a week, two people responsible for the crimes against human rights defenders accepted their liability.
Due to the conclusive evidence presented by the Office of the Attorney General, Adán Romero Pérez, alias El Grande or Chuky, pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him for his responsibility in the crime of the environmental leader in Sierra Nevada, Alejandro Llinás. Facts took place on April 23 in Vereda Calabazo in Santa Marta.
Alias Chuky, an alleged member of the criminal structure (Autodefensa Unidas Conquistadores de la Sierra Nevada) derived from the so-called Los Pachenca, had an arrest warrant in force for aggravated murder and criminal conspiracy. A prison sentence was issued against Romero Pérez for this case.
In the same case, Alcides Antonio Molina Rodríguez, was arrested and brought before the court. He was charged with aggravated murder, robbery and criminal conspiracy.
The methodology implemented in the investigation into murders committed against human rights defenders that was defined in the guidelines drawn up by the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa, forced two alleged perpetrators of murders against leaders to plead guilty to aggravated murder due to the victim´s condition as a human rights defender.
The first case is related to alias El Ciego who pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him. He was the alleged perpetrator of the murder of the human rights defender and community leader, Manuel Ramírez Mosquera, which took place in Riosucio, Chocó.
