Eight cases have been clarified and 14 people have been arrested for affecting social leaders, people in process of reincorporation and civilians.
In response to the guidelines defined by the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, that prioritize the clearing up of cases that affect leaders, people in the process of reincorporation and the civil population, the arrest and prosecution of a person allegedly involved in the murder of a former Farc member in process of reincorporation was achieved.
In the last hours, a Prosecutor appointed to the Special Investigation Unit charged John James Cuenu Cabezas, alias JJ or Culo with aggravated murder, conspiracy to commit a crime and manufacturing, trafficking and possession of firearms. He is an alleged member of the so-called United Guerrillas of the Pacific or Los Contadores which operate in Nariño.
The Office of the Attorney General presented enough evidence that proved the alleged participation of the defendant in the murder of José Junior Granja, a former Farc member in process of reincorporation which took place on December 21, 2018 in rural settlement El Aguacate, in a small town named Chilvi in the municipality of Tumaco (Nariño).
With this result, the Office of the Attorney General has clarified eight affectations committed against people in process of reincorporation and leaders in Tumaco and has allowed to arrest 14 alleged members of said criminal organization.
The evidence collected in the investigations into the criminal actions of ‘Los Contadores’ allowed the seizure of war material, communication equipment, cash, vehicles, motorcycles and 5 guilty verdicts and 12 arrest warrants (pending to be carried out).
The effectiveness of these investigations is reflected in the arrest and prosecution of the top leader of the organization, alias Contador, arrested on February 21 in the Department of Caquetá, who remains in La Picota prison in the cityof Bogota.
