Three other alleged members of the Efraín Pabón Pabón front of that guerrilla were also arrested.

As a result of a joint operation carried out by the Office of the Attorney General, the Police Department of Santander and the Fifth Brigade of the National Army, it was possible to arrest Pablo Antonio Villamizar, alias Oli, an alleged leader of the ELN front Efraín Pabón Pabón who was allegedly involved in the attack committed against the Police Academy Escuela de Cadetes General Santander that took place on January 17, 2019. 

Alias ​​Oli was arrested last September 11th in ​​Cúcuta (Norte de Santander). At the end of the hearings* a prison sentence was issued by a supervisory judge for rebellion offenses. 

Through the investigative work carried out under the guidelines of the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, to clarify criminal acts and dismantle criminal organizations, it was learned that Villamizar allegedly provided important information for the commission of the attack, since he participated in a training course for officers in that place. 

Likewise, it was possible to establish that Villamizar, as the alleged leader of the aforementioned armed group,had influence over the municipalities of Cilos, Chitaga, Labateca and Toledo (Norte de Santander), as well as in Cerrito, Concepción and San Andrés, among others in the Department of Santander. 

In the operation, three other alleged members of that front were also arrested. The Office of the Attorney General will be taken to court in order to be prosecuted for extortion offenses. 

These people were allegedly in charge of logistics, the supplying and the intelligence duties in this ELN’s terrorism support network.
