As a result of an operation carried out by CTI and the National Police, the arrests were conducted. In the next few hours, they will be brought before a supervisory judge to conduct the preliminary hearings.
An operation carried out by the Technical Investigative Corps, the Office of the Attorney General and the National Police led to the arrest of two of the three people who would be involved in the murder of five minors between the ages of 13 and 16, which took place on August 11 in a sugar cane field, Llano Verde neighborhood, in Cali (Valle del Cauca).
The case was prioritized by the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, who ordered the creation of an interdisciplinary team of experts in criminalistics coordinated by three prosecutors specialized in murder cases. The investigation was carried out by 51 judicial police officers of CTI, Sijin and Gaula from the National Police who used drones and forensic technology equipment to obtain enough important evidence material to arrest people responsible for the murders.
In 16 days, the investigative team managed to clarify the facts that involve three men in charge of the security of the sector. According to the investigations, the victims used to visit the place to hunt or to eat sugar cane. On the day of the events, the three adults who worked as guards around the sugar cane field saw the five minors and, without uttering a word, and maybe with the intention of avoiding the presence of the young people there, they murdered four of them with firearms and another with a knife.
