The Prosecuting authority expressed his solidarity with the families of the victims of massacres in Valle del Cauca, Nariño, Arauca, Cauca, and Antioquia. He assured that he multidisciplinary teams of investigators and Special prosecutors have been appointed to deal with each case.
During his speech before the Human Rights Commission in the Congress, the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, stated that in the light of the recent events that took place in the departments of Valle del Cauca, Nariño, Arauca, Antioquia and Cauca, “We have research methodologies with sustainability and consolidation not only to find the material authors but also the masterminds and structures responsible for these events. Our purpose is the clarification”.
He indicated that multidisciplinary teams have been appointed to deal with these investigations, including members of Legal Medicine, members of the Technical Investigative corps (Cuerpo Técnico de Investigación CTI in Spanish), and officials of SIJIN. Specialized prosecutors were assigned to deal with each case.
In order to find those people responsible for the crime of five minors with the ages between 13 and 16, which took place on August 11, in a sugar cane field in Llano Verde neighborhood, in Cali (Valle del Cauca), five prosecutors have been assigned to visit the area, a special prosecutor, 24 members of Sijin and Dijin who work with the National Police, 23 members of Intelligence services, three from Gaula, four members of the Directorate of Protection and Special Services (Dirección de Protección y Servicios Especiales Dipro) and six members of CTI.
For the clarification of the murder of eight young people with ages between 20 and 27 in Samaniego (Nariño), a joint work has been carried out with Sijin-the National Police, the Directorate of Police Intelligence (Dipol), the Technical Investigative Corps (CTI), DIJIN-National Police with experts in ballistics, topography, photographers, forensic experts and analysts.
