Thanks to the evidence, the Office of the Attorney General managed the Circuit Court the Circuit of Manzanares* (court of mixed jurisdiction) to issue a conviction against Víctor Alfonso Cardona Escobar on July 30 for the offenses of commercial sexual exploitation of a person under 18 years of age with multiple concurrent crimes, use or facilitation of the media to offer sexual activities with people under 18 years of age. 

In the framework of the investigation carried out by the Branch Office in Caldas and thanks to the information provided by an informant, it was established that on April 14, 2018, in Manzanares (Caldas), Sijín members found the convicted man with a minor of 11 years that was hugging him while he was convincing her of going with him and when he was giving her some money.

The victim stated in that same day that Cardona Escobar was giving her money in exchange for having sex and that he gave her COP $ 70,000. 

In the hearing, the judge hearing the case sentenced the man to 236 months in prison and ordered him to pay a fine of 67 monthly legal minimum wages and was denied the  suspension of the execution of the court judgment.
