At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, the Chamber of the Superior Tribunal of Bucaramanga (Santander) (Sala de Control de Garantías de Justicia y Paz ) issued precautionary measures concerning 8 lands which are part of a farm named Las Vegas, located in Buenavista (Córdoba) and are linked to the Self Defense Forces´s block known as Bloque Central Bolívar (BCB in Spanish) and Guillermo León Acevedo, alias Memo Fantasma.
Based on several spontaneous declarations (version libre) of the postulates ‘postulados’ of the not longer existing group United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia AUC in Spanish) made before the Office of Transitional Justice, as well as proceedings carried out before the Justice and Peace Tribunal, it was possible to establish that the links of alias Memo Fantasma with Bloque Central Bolivar began in 1998 until the demobilization of that armed group in 2006. Therefore, he is accused of leading the BCB’s drug trafficking activities.
After accepting the arguments presented by the Office of the Attorney General, the magistrate ordered a suspension of power to alienate these properties valued at nearly $ 9,000,000,000 which will remain under the management of the fund for the reparation of victims (Fondo para la Reparación a las Víctimas).
The investigations carried out by Office of Transitional Justice allowed to identify these lands based on the information obtained in the same free declarations made by the ‘postulados’.
