The leaders of a structure belonging to Clan del Golfo and known as ‘Los Descuartizadores’ must serve 60 years in prison, after the Attorney General’s Office proved that they participated in several murders which took place in Córdoba, Antioquia and Bogotá.
The investigation carried out by the Office of the Attorney General, through the Special Directorate against Criminal Organizations, showed that four members of the criminal structure “Los Descuartizadores”, working for the criminal organization Clan del Golfo, participated in several murders that occurred between 2009 and 2010.
The evidence revealed that the criminal organization murdered, dismembered and buried five people on a farm located on the route Montería (Córdoba) – Arboletes (Antioquia). These murders were ordered due to the fact that Clan del Golfo believed that the victims were part of the criminal organization known as ‘Los Paisas’, with whom they had a violent dispute for the territorial control of the drug trafficking routes.
Based on the evidence presented by the Office of the Attorney General, the Superior Tribunal of Sincelejo ratified the prison term of 60 years for Héctor Mauricio Torres Torres, alias El Soldado, who was the leader of ‘Los Descuartizadores’; and Alberto Elías Restrepo Arias, alias Hormiga, head of the hitmen.
