As a result of a joint investigation and operation between the Office of the Attorney General and the National Police, 137 people were linked to a criminal proceeding.
The Attorney General’s Office, through the Technical Investigative Corps (in Spanish Cuerpo Técnico de Investigación CTI) and the National Police arranged a specific day to identify and locate the alleged perpetrators of murders and femicides that took place in 2019 and so far in 2020 .
The offensive named ‘Plan Cazador’ was carried out between March 4th and 25th of the current year and allowed to link 137 people to different processes. 128 people were arrested since there were current court orders against them. Therefore, detention measures were issued against them. Another 9 individuals were linked to the investigations through indictments.
48 of the 128 individuals arrested would be part of criminal structures such as ‘Clan del Golfo’, ‘La Agonía’ and ‘Los Flacos’.
In addition to the 137 individuals mentioned, 20 people who were in prisons were notified about other processes. Likewise, the prosecutors hearing the cases requested the issuance of 10 blue Interpol notices addressed to Ecuador, Panama, Guatemala, Mexico, Chile, and Spain.
