Office of the Attorney General will prosecute people who take advantage of the pandemic to speculate about prices and stockpile food and medicines

Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, calls for the solidarity of Colombians amid Coronavirus and preventive isolation.

The Office of the Attorney General encourages citizens to accept the call of the national authorities and respect decisions made by the national government who seeks to prevent the Coronavirus that has already infected a great number of people in the country.

According to the Attorney General´s statements, he will take severe measures to assure compliance with the law to avoid the stockpile and speculation of those who intend to take advantage of this situation that has caused thousands of deaths in the world.

“We are going to work based on an agreement that we have entered into with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio) and I assure that the national and sectional directorates, the immediate reaction units, made up of prosecutors and investigators, will be at disposal to prosecute those people who take economic advantage of this situation”, stated the Attorney General.
