At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, arrests warrants were issued against 14 ELN members, including the top ring leaders of that organization in connection to kidnapping and murder of Aulio Isarama Forastero, governor of the indigenous group named Catru Dubaza – Emberá Dobidá community  which took place on October 24, 2017 in Alto Baudó (Chocó).

According to testimonies and evidence gathered by the Sectional Prosecutor´s Office in Chocó and the Directorate on Investigation and Analysis Support against Organized Crime, some individuals wearing ELN garments and armbands intercepted the indigenous leader and took him away with intimidations.

Some hours after his kidnapping, the community was informed about his murder. Therefore, several community members went to the crime scene to collect the body. Subsequently, the Institute of Legal Medicine (Instituto de Medicina Legal y Ciencias Forense in spanish) certified that Aulio Isarama Forastero died in a state of defenselessness as there was evidence in his body that he received a gunshot.
