Apparently, the former guerrilla man used three telephone numbers to demand millionaire amounts of money to release the victim.
Thanks to interviews, photographic recognition, link analysis, technical examinations and other judicial police activities, the Office of the Attorney General, through the specialized office in Florence (Caquetá) was able to link Elí Mejía Mendoza aka Martín Sombra to the investigation on aggravated kidnapping for ransom of a cattle breeder on December 31, 2017 in San Vicente del Caguán.
Investigators detected three telephone subscribers that were used by alias Martín Sombra which showed evidence of time and place that match up with the incoming calls who received the family.
According to the witnesses, he always identified himself as Martín Sombra. Actually, he met with the cattle breeder´s relative in Saravena (Arauca) where they talked about the matter.
