Investigations, carried out by the Office of the Attorney General, led CTI members of Sectional Office in Magdalena to the municipality of Melgar (Tolima) (more than 900 kilometers) where the alleged intellectual author of the murder of the social leader of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Joaquín Trujillo García, was apparently hiding. The leader was a victim of hitmen in the month of May of this year.
The Office of the Attorney General with the support of Gaula Militar Magdalena established the whereabouts of Leandro Jhonatan Lara, alias Barbas or Leandro, who is the alleged responsible for this crime and founder, ringleader and chief and chief of finances of the criminal group known as “Los Pachenca”.
Lara was arrested after few months of monitorings, wiretappings, and intelligence activities which took into account information supplied by people who revealed details and movements that the defendant used to escape from authorities.
