In the framework of the process, the Office of the Attorney General  discovered a network of corruption which permeated the supervising entities to favor private individuals and affecting the health system of Colombian citizens.

The 4th Criminal Court of the Circuit of Bogotá (Judge hearing the case) sentenced Jhon Alexánder Colmenares Russi, owner of several entities providing health care services (Institutos Prestadores de Salud (IPS)) in the country, to five years in prison (63 months 1 day).

Court also ordered him to pay a fine of 87,5 legal minimum wages and disbarred him from the practice of law and public functions for 6 years (72 months).
