Today, Friday May 31, 2019, a meeting was held between the Acting Attorney General in Colombia, Fabio Espitia Garzón and his counterpart in Panama, Kenya I. Porcell D. in the city of Panama with the aim of strengthening the bilateral relationship and the fight against organized crime in specific topics such as corruption, money laundering and illegal mining as well as creating strategies in order to financially attack criminal organizations.

At the meeting, the Attorney General and his counterpart in Panama highlighted the productive results of the judicial cooperation and the need to continue the joint work between the two institutions.

The Attorney General of panama holds the title of president of the Iberoamerican Association of Public Ministries (in Spanish Asociación Iberoamericana de Ministerios Publicos AIAMP) and the Office of the Attorney General in Colombia leads the Network against Illegal Mining in the above mentioned Association which was founded in the month of March and is formed of 10 Ibero-American countries .
