Today, February 14, 2019, in Quito (Ecuador), the Binational Meeting between the Attorney General of Colombia, Néstor Humberto Martínez Neira, and the Interim  Attorney General of Ecuador, Ruth Jimena Palacios Brito, took place.

The purpose was to renew the commitment of international legal cooperation and strengthen joint strategies to combat organized crime and transnational crime.

In the course of the meeting, prosecutors examined several criminal phenomena linked to organized crime affecting security and prosperity in the border area. Therefore, they agreed that it is necessary to redouble efforts in each country and strengthen cooperation among them to effectively combat this scourge.
