The most recent measures of the Office of the Attorney General showed that homicide figures fell by 9,86% in the cities and 6,61% in the whole country in the first trimester of the year. It is a significant number if one considers that figures of murders increased by 3,25 % at the end of year 2018.
Judicial sessions against organized crime and the implementation of the new protocols of investigations about homicide, in which the Group of Criminalistics of Police and the Office of the Attorney General arrive at the crime scene and preserve the evidence in a better way, were fundamental aspects to achieve an important decrease in the number of violent deaths and clarify more homicides in the first trimester of 2019.
