A Judicial Summit between the United States Acting Attorney General, Matthew Whitaker, and Attorney General in Colombia, Néstor Humberto Martínez Neira, took place in the city of Bogotá. This summit was intended to take stock of the joint strategy to fight transnational organized crime.

This official meeting was planned for several weeks and was approved by the White House. It allowed to examine recent results of investigations and operations related to criminal structures that have been dismantled and illegal resources that have been impacted.

This summit helped to strengthen the bilateral cooperation mechanisms between allied countries and to improve investigative strategies for information exchange to counteract criminal phenomena that affect security of countries, such as drug trafficking, money laundering, corruption, among other crimes.
