The Office of the Attorney General and the Electoral Council (Consejo Nacional Electoral) signed a cooperation agreement to guarantee a transparent and legal electoral process
The election calendar for 2019 began with the registration of identity documents and institutions are planning actions to guarantee normal execution of elections of mayors and governors.
Facing the possibility that electoral crimes and administrative irregularities can be committed, the Office of the Attorney General and the Electoral Council signed a cooperation notice that will allow to develop a pedagogy, a prevention work and exchange information to make progress in the investigation and prosecution of people responsible of behaviors that will affect the electoral act.
In this sense, the Office of the Attorney General and the Electoral Council warn citizens about the offenses that could be committed at this stage of the process and that give rise to penal and administrative consequences.
