Before a judge ( guarantee judge), the Office of the Attorney General charged Ronald Mauricio Contreras Flórez, mayor of Pamplona (Norte de Santander), and Geider Said Acero Bastos, secretary of Government, for alleged commission of embezzlement and execution of contracts without compliance of legal requirements.
The local authority and his Secretary of government are investigated for alleged inconsistencies in a contract executed on October 24, 2016 between the municipality and corporation ‘Vida y Progreso’ with the aim of encouraging victims of the armed conflict to create sustainable productive projects amounting to 169 million pesos.
The Office of the Attorney General requested a preventive detention order with imprisonment against the public servants. However, the judge issued home detention orders.
