Member of the so-called Los Coyotes was condemned for criminal conspiracy

Most of the victims of human smuggling were Cubans, Indian and African citizens 

John Edinson Rosero Henao, alias Claro, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Team (Cuerpo Tecnico de Investigación CTI in Spanish) in Ipiales (Nariño) to serve 48 months in prison for criminal conspiracy.

Sentence is based in the fact that Rosero Henao was linked to the so-called Los Coyotes criminal organization which was involved in smuggling people from Rumichaca (Ecuador) to Colombia.

According to the investigation, most of the victims of human smuggling were Cubans, Indian and African citizens. They are transported in private vehicles to the bus terminal in Ipiales (Nariño) towards  Cali (Valle del Cauca), Medellin (Antioquia) or Bogotá after they are asked to provide large quantities of money to avoid being detected by authorities.
