As part of a strategy to fight against violence which is led by Deputy Attorney, María Paulina Riveros, the Office of the Attorney General began a training to prepare experts in gender-based violence.
This training project which is supported by the Office of Public Safety (Delegada para la Seguridad Ciudadana) and the Office of Higher Studies (Dirección de Altos Estudios) – Office Attorney General has the main purpose of training investigators and prosecutors in domestic violence, sexual violence and gender-based violence.
At the academic event which took place at the NH Bogotá Metrotel Royal hotel, the Head of the Office of Public Safety, Luis González León, stated that “domestic violence increased by 19% compared to last year. Concluding that women were the most affected, followed by girls, boys and senior citizens”.
