The  Delegate prosecutor before the Supreme Court of Justice, Fabio Espita Garzón, launched a Regional Forum about Abbreviated Criminal Procedure Law and “acusador privado” in Pasto. More than 400 people including magistrates, judges, public lawyers, prosecutors, professors and university students attended the event.

This event will allow the attendees to know about the scope of Law 1826 that will alleviate workloads in courts in order to shorten criminal proceedings observing the due process.

 

*Acusador privado: it refers to a private person (victim) that can file criminal complaints or charges against others for misdemeanor crimes, without the police or the prosecutor’s office being involved. Private Person should be represented by a lawyer.
