According to the investigations conducted by the Office of the Attorney General, there were seven cases in which faked medical reports were issued in order to favor imprisoned people to obtain benefits such as home confinement

In a preliminary agreement, a public servant and a former public servant of the Legal Institute of Medicine in Palmira (Valle del Cauca) accepted responsibility for issuing false medical reports to favor arrested people.

Jesús Eduardo Ramírez Obando, former public servant, accepted responsibility for the commission of two events in each of the following offenses: ideological representation, breach of duty and procedural fraud. In the meantime, Andrés Felipe Moncayo Jiménez, medical examiner in duty, only accepted four cases in each of the above mentioned offenses.

The agreement reached with the Office of the Attorney General must be verified and approved by the judge hearing the case “Juez de Conocimiento” in Palmira (Valle del Cauca).
