The Office of the Attorney General provides the following information in regard to the so-called ODEBRECHT case:
1. Communication from the Public Ministry of Brazil
Today in the morning, the Office of the Attorney General received a written communication signed by the Attorney General of Brazil, Mr. Rodrigo Janot, in which he states that in regard to the cooperation agreements signed by authorities in Brazil and people linked to ODEBRECHT company, the term of confidentially expires on June 1, 2017.
Attorney General in Brazil also informed that he has formally requested the Supreme Court in Brazil “Tribunal Federal de Brazil” to suspend confidentiality of statements and documents which are related to other countries different from Brazil and which are part of cooperation agreements between the company and their authorities. However, Attorney General of Brazil stated that from June 1st, 2017 date in which evidence can be shared with other countries, it is recommended to treat the evidence and statements with utmost confidentiality in order to avoid affecting those investigations which are carried out by authorities in that country.
