The Office of the Attorney General arrested Jaime Augusto Pinto Ferreira who is wanted by the United States Federal Court for the Southern District of Florida for conspiring to distribute five (5) kilograms or more of cocaine and conspiring to launder money.
The operation was conducted by the National Office to coordinate Special Judicial Police Authorities belonging to the Attorney General in collaboration with DEA Agency in the city of Cartagena (Bolivar) in which the 65 year-old business administrator was informed about the warrant issued by the authorities of the United States.
According to the investigations that were conducted in that country, Pinto Ferreira, worked for the organization of José Toro Naranjo, alias J, whose operation center was located in Armenia (Quindío) and he was arrested on March 2015, extradited to the United States and sentenced to 5 years in prison.
