Four people have been sentenced to 90, 50, 40 and 35 months in prison this week. One of them has been the agency´s treasurer.

A prosecutor belonging to the Unit on Crimes against Public Administration (Unidad de  Delitos contra la Administración Pública) in Cali (Valle del Cauca) brought charges against Jorge Eliécer Mejía Marulanda before the 8th Municipal Court (Guarantee Court) for embezzlement offenses since an alleged mishandling of funds belonging to Armed Forces Logistics Agency of the Southwest Regional Office was detected.

Charges were brought within the framework of the so called “Bolsillos de Cristal”* plan of the Office of the Attorney General since investigations supported by accounting experts from the Criminal Investigation Team (CTI) allowed to establish that this illegal activity was conducted between 2009 and 2014 in the amount of $810.153.641 pesos.

*“Bolsillos de Cristal” is a plan which was promoted by the Office of the Attorney General in Colombia in order to fight against corruption.
