Jonatan Bayona Poveda, alias “Pájaro” and alleged ELN ringleader of Domingo Laín Sáenz Front – Omaira Montoya Henao Commission, was arrested on April 6th in Fortul (Aruca) and was sent to prison.
According to an investigation which was conducted by members of the Judicial Police Office specialized in Organized Crime (Dirección Especializada de Policía Judicial de Crimen Organizado (PCO)) – Office of the Attorney General, with the support of the 34th Army Mobile Brigade, it was possible to establish that the arrested individual was the alleged ringleader of militias in Arauca and would be the person responsible for the terrorist attacks committed against law enforcement.
