El Tiempo Newspaper (Colombia) organized a discussion group on anticorruption in which the current situation of this scourge in the country was analyzed. Attorney General, Néstor Humberto Martínez Neira; Inspector General, Fernando Carrillo, and Comptroller General, Edgardo Maya were the participants.Progresses and strategies used to combat corruption were shared by these three control authorities.
Attorney General Neira emphasized that corruption is becoming a worldwide systematic issue affecting the public and private sector. It represents the 5% of the Gross Domestic Product. However, the Office of the Attorney General has developed the so called Bolsillos de Cristal plan against corruption which has produced conclusive results in few months.
