“We do not have an official list from Government concerning the guerilla members who are reinserting into society”: stated Attorney General

In a public hearing regarding the legislation of the so called “Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz (JEP)” which took place at the First Commission of the Senate, Attorney General, Néstor Humberto Martínez Neira warned that the prosecuting authority does not have an official list of Farc members who are under demobilization process.

According to Martinez Neira, said registration has to go through verifications by the Colombian State in order to prevent individuals who have been involved in the commission of common crimes from “jumping the queue” in the process: “neither the government nor society or the Office of the Attorney General can admit that”
