Former Mayor of Nechí (Antioquia) investigated for paying his personal accounts by using Mayor´s Office resources was sent to prison

Sentence of deprivation of liberty will be served in a prison in Bajo Cauca- Antioquia

The 28^th Criminal Court in Medellín, with supervisory functions (control de garantias) issued a preventive detention order for former Mayor of Nechí (Antioquia), Eduardo Enrique Cabrera Urbiña, as he allegedly used resources from the administration in order to give the amount of 220 million pesos to a private individual.

The private individual, on his own initiative, filed a complaint. He told the Office of the Attorney General that he never worked as a contractor in the municipality and that this case is about a personal debt in which he received money from state royalties. Facts took place in July 2013.
